Fast-Tracking the CGA Designation

As a ‘CGA accredited’ GTA university student, you have the opportunity to fast-track to the CGA designation through a spring challenge exam. CGA Ontario is offering a free challenge exam review session valued at $500, in mid-May, to help you prepare for a challenge exam in tax, audit or finance. By enroling by the end of March 2012, you will also be eligible for a 1 in 7 chance of winning a $300 bursary into the CGA program of professional studies- virtually paying for your challenge exam.

CGA Ontario Enrolment Workshop

The CGA Ontario Enrolment Workshop is designed to assist all students with varying types of academic backgrounds learn the necessary steps to enroling in the CGA program of professional studies. The workshop runs from 11am to 3pm @ Ted Rogers School of Management, Rm. 3-119. We will be covering topics like work experience and program requirements, the application process for both transfer credit students and accredited students, and we will be teaching you all the advantages a CGA designation can give your career in the future, but also how enroling in our program will help you land a job today.

Now that winter term is in full swing, CGA Ontario in collaboration with Robert Half Canada is offering this exclusive event for GTA Universities.

This Student Connect event will engage participants giving them the opportunity to meet with a professional recruiter from Robert Half Canada and provide useful information on how to improve one’s resume and interview skills. Additionally, CGA Ontario will be offering seminars to broaden one’s job search capabilities upon graduation, assisting participants with landing that first job!

What’s new at PwC?

In mid-December, more than one thousand people from around the world participated in a first-of-its-kind, 72 hour “jam session” intended to better understand how the motivations and values of our people differ across generations.

Through the online forum, people shared their experiences, voiced their opinions and discussed their ideas on careers, work styles and work-life balance. This jam session was part of a comprehensive study of more than 100,000 PwC people conducted by the University of Southern California (USC) and the London Business School to better understand the implications of generational differences for leadership, management and team practices.

Are you a CGA Ontario Accredited Program Student?

The CGA program of professional studies is accredited with universities across Ontario. Qualified graduates of an accredited degree program are on the fast-track to the CGA designation — only four course credits (or less) required!

As an accredited program student you receive a block transfer of ALL your accounting and finance courses into the CGA program. Those enrolling are not required to complete our transfer credit evaluation which saves over $400.
