Registration and accommodations are free!!

Teams of 4 open to all full-time undergraduate students. Each team must have at least one first-year business student.

This will be a great event to participate in because there will be reputable members there to judge the cases they prepare and students will have an opportunity to showcase their talents and network.

Register by: December 9, tell students to email me (burnet.j@hotmail.com) for their registration forms and if they need any more info. They can email Nolan Goyette as well (goyetten@uwindsor.ca)

Case Assigned: January 10 (will be sent out in an email)

Presentations: January 13 – must be at the University of Windsor in the morning, so students from UOIT will have to stay overnight on Thursday night.

Out on Bay Street Case Competition

The Annual Conference  & Case Competition for LGBTQA undergraduate and graduate students in business, law and technology programs is built upon the values of leadership, and education. The Annual Conference creates an advantageous learning and networking opportunity for our delegates from across the country. Through exceptional quality of academic and geographic diversity, sponsorship and networking; as well as in educational seminars and inspirational keynote speeches, the conference inspires Canada’s future leaders. Since its humble beginnings, the Annual Conference has brought together some of the most successful LGBTQA leaders with the delegates; in addition to, representation from many Canadian and global organizations.

The 2011 conference will address the most interesting and relevant topics for an undergraduate, graduate and law audience, while, challenging student’s creativity and sense of innovation through the newly implemented case competition.

About the Case Competition:

The newly implemented Case Competition will challenge the innovation and entrepreneurial mindset of our delegates focusing on issues within the facets of business, law and technology. The original case specifically designed for Out on Bay Street’s Annual Conference and Case Competition will give our delegates the opportunity to:

  • Compete against the brightest students across Canada
  • Connect and impress a panel of judges from corporate and legal organizations
  • Inspire fellow delegates through leadership and presentation

Dates of the Competition are as follows:

Final date for registration for the Case Competition: Thursday, September 22, 2011

Case released: Friday, September 23, 2011 at midnight
Presentations due: Friday, September 30, 2011 at noon

Preliminary Round: Saturday, October 1, 2011 – 8:00am to 10:00am
[ 10 minute Presentation + 5 minute Question & Answer period ]

The teams will present solely in front of a panel of judges.
3 of the 15 teams will be selected to present in the final round. These 3 teams will not be notified that they have succeeded the preliminary round until the actual time of the final round; therefore, there will be no opportunity to practice on your presentation before the final round.

Final Round: Saturday, October 1, 2011 – 4:45pm – 6:00pm
[ 10 minute Presentation + 10 minute Question & Answer period ]

The winning team selected out of the 3 will receive:

  • A Cash Prize of $1,000

Brock University Accounting Conference 2011

UOIT accounting students expand your horizons with our first external event for 2011!

Luckily for us we have been invited back to Brock’s 3rd annual BUAC (Brock University Accounting Conference).

To relate to the trending concerns and interests of technological involvement in today’s business and accounting community, the theme for BUAC 2011 is “Digital Domination: The World 2.0 At Your Finger Tips”. This year’s conference will take place beginning on November 18th through to November 20th, 2011. The competition will be divided into junior and senior categories, allowing students from all years the equal chance of participating. The first place winner will receive a $1000 cash prize along with a golden trophy. The second and third place winners will also receive prizes.
